DESCRIPTION:Common Ground: Ireland and the EU is a new multimedia exhibition exploring how Ireland’s membership of the European Union has shaped the country socially\, culturally and economically over the past few decades. The exhibition also looks at the impact Ireland has had across Europe\, telling stories of migration\, opportunity\, equality\, education and cultural exchange through immersive displays and personal stories. \n  \n\n\nIreland joined the European Economic Community (EEC) – as the EU was then known – on January 1\, 1973\, after a referendum endorsed by 83% of voters. It was then among the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in western Europe\, with a population just over half of its current size. \nIreland’s accession proved to be the most consequential economic milestone in the half century since Irish independence\, but it also set in motion far-reaching social and cultural change. EU legislation has driven improvements in workers’ rights\, for example\, and set binding targets for climate action. Irish people have studied and built new lives across Europe\, while many Europeans have since made their homes here in Ireland. \nAs Ireland assumes the EU presidency in 2026\, this new multimedia exhibition explores how a small island nation has extended its influence across Europe\, and how Europe\, in turn\, has profoundly shaped modern Ireland. \nFeatured Stories:\nEqual Pay \nStudying Abroad \nAn Ghaeilge \nEntry to this exhibition is included in general admission tickets.

DESCRIPTION:Night-Time Economy Grassroots Music Venues Support Scheme\nHen’s Teeth is delighted to announce the return of 6 Tracks – their much-loved conversation and performance series – in their Blackpitts venue for a new show event season running monthly from July through November 2026. \nEach evening\, a musician sits down with hosts Laura Twagirayezu (aka Big Cheeks) or Sally Cinnamon to talk through six tracks – the songs that have shaped their sound\, their life\, the way they hear the world and how it impacted their craft\, followed by a live performance into the evening. She rose to critical acclaim from her debut album First Prize Bravery\, which was an evocative depiction of young adulthood\, a time during which she ventured from home in Dublin to New York\, Los Angeles and back again. Her follow up album Smiling Like an Idiot cemented her status as one of Ireland’s most revered songwriters and saw her tour North America\, Europe and Australia\, both as a headliner and as a special guest for artists such as Snow Patrol\, Mitski and Dermot Kennedy. \nShe returns this September 2026 with her third album\, Draw The Outline. Made after relocating to West Kerry\, it’s her most intimate and reflective record to date – trading synth-led textures for acoustic guitar\, woodwinds\, saxophone\, Hammond organ and piano\, and turning her gaze inward. \nBrigid Mae Power (27th August)\n \nBrigid Mae Power’s music never quite settles on solid ground. The Irish singer-songwriter sits between past and present\, between traditional and modern forms\, between the heaven in her voice and the earthbound epiphanies of her words. There’s something distinctively Irish in her sound\, delivered with a freshness and emotional rawness that feels entirely her own. \nShe’s released three albums to date\, including her acclaimed 2022 record Head Above the Water\, which was Rough Trade’s Album of the Month and earned praise from Pitchfork\, Mojo\, Uncut\, The Guardian and The Irish Times. Her albums blend traditional folk and country into something that feels both personal and wide-reaching. \nHer most recent record\, Songs for You\, is a heartfelt collection of covers dedicated to her father\, reworking songs by Roy Orbison\, Tom Verlaine\, Neil Young and Cass McCombs into something minimal\, intimate and entirely her own. \nEfé (24th September)\n \nEFÉ is an Irish artist hailing from Dublin. EFÉ released her debut EP What Should We Do This Summer in October 2020 which was recorded in her bedroom with the help of her friends. Her music is a sunny slice of bedroom pop\, evoking images of blue skies on a summer’s day using shimmering synth pads and funky\, modulated guitar tones. EFÉ sets herself apart from other artists with the unique and playful groove that provides the grounding for her DIY style\, and definitely marks her as one to watch from the emerging Irish scene. Her music is effortlessly nostalgic\, pulling on indie-tinged memories of the late 1990s and early 2000s. \nAfter signing to US label Fader; home to artists such as Clairo – she leaned further into her rock influences for her most recent single releases in 2024\, Truth Truth\, 2000Seven and you say that I’m crazy\, lo-fi indie tracks that make space for guitars to soar. As she puts it\, “In earlier projects I was scared to go full force with the rock sound\, but this year I thought\, let me just do it.” \nSaoirse Miller (29th October)\n \nSaoirse Miller is a Dublin-based singer-songwriter and producer whose music is rooted in Irish folklore and mythology and a lifelong fascination with the otherworldly. Her sound – spanning experimental folk\, ambient textures and ethereal vocal production – is less about genre and more about world-building\, creating somewhere else entirely to disappear into. \nInfluenced by Florence and the Machine\, Grouper\, Lisa O’Neill and the poetry of W.B. Yeats\, Saoirse writes songs that transform personal feeling into something mythic. Her connection to place runs deep – her grandparents are from Mizen Head in West Cork\, and it’s a landscape she returns to again and again\, in her music as much as in life. \nHer debut EP\, Birds\, was written and produced entirely by Saoirse herself\, with each track designed to blend and interlude into the next as one continuous body of work. Mixed and mastered to tape by Karl Barnes\, Birds channels Irish traditional music and folklore through an electroacoustic lens\, resulting in a sound that feels both faded and familiar. \nAbout Laura Twagirayezu\nRwandan-born and Dublin-based\, Laura is a curator\, DJ and cultural connector whose work consistently brings depth and warmth to questions of music\, identity and community. Whether she’s hosting her own Lobby Lectures series\, curating listening events through her gallery UMUTI:MA\, or moving between Afrobeats\, Amapiano\, Soul and R&B in the DJ booth – she understands music as a lens. 6 Tracks is a natural home for that kind of conversation. \nAbout Sally Cinnamon\nSally Cinnamon is one of Dublin’s most well known DJs\, a fixture of Dublin’s nightlife since 2001. Her sets are genre-spanning by design\, moving fluidly between afrobeat\, techno and dubstep\, with a strong undercurrent of retro and psychedelic sound that gives her selections a relatability for all. She has also turned her hand to presenting\, hosting the Hennessy Sound Lounge\, where she interviewed Irish artists including David Kitt\, Pillow Queens\, Vivienne Dick and BP Fallon about the records that shaped their work. \nAbout Hen’s Teeth\nHen’s Teeth creates contemporary cultural experiences from Blackpitts in Dublin 8. As the sun sets\, the family must confront a series of crises\, from cyber-scams and drug debts to long-buried grievances about a mother who once walked away. \n“Why must the words vulnerable and old always go together?” \nOpening on 30 September\, with previews from 25 September. It runs till 1 November.  \n  \n  \nABOUT THE WRITER:\nERICA MURRAY \nErica is from County Limerick\, Ireland. She holds a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin and an MFA in Playwriting from The Lir Academy. While in college\, she wrote her first play called Bunk which won the Irish Student Drama Award for Best New Writing. She is a previous member of the Soho Theatre Young Writers Group\, Lyric New Playwright’s Programme and the Six in the Attic programme at Irish Theatre Institute. \nIn 2018\, her play; The Cat’s Mother\, toured to London\, Edinburgh and Dublin Fringe where it won the Fishamble Award for Best New Writing and was subsequently nominated for the Stewart Parker Trust Award. \nIn 2019\, she was the Channel 4 Writer-in-Residence at The Lyric Theatre in Belfast where her second play All Mod Cons premiered. The new play she wrote while on this residency won the Sonia Friedman Award. \nHer play The Loved Ones premiered at the Dublin Theatre Festival 2023 in a co-production between Rough Magic and The Gate Theatre to critical acclaim. It was remounted in 2025 and went on an Irish national tour. \nIn 2024\, she wrote a play for young audiences for The Abbey Theatre called In Real Life which has been performed across many primary and secondary schools around Ireland. It is currently touring again this May.\nThe Loved Ones has been recently produced in Buffalo at the Irish Classical Theatre Company and is currently about to be produced at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York. \nErica currently has a residency at the National Theatre Studio in London.

DESCRIPTION:Max Cooper is an electronic composer\, multi-disciplinary artist\, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art. \nHe holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos. \nCooper has enquired for over 15 years through music\, collaborations\, and his label Mesh\, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations\, \nperformances\, immersive experiences\, online media\, music videos and live events. Anchored throughout is his emotive approach\, connecting how ideas and forms feel\, in a manner accessible to us all. \nAs an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture\, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10-year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he \nformed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club\, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations. \n“I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls\, museums and galleries is liberating – the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere.” \nCooper’s newest release\, On Being\, an exploration of the “desperate experience of being human”\, is his tenth studio album. Crafted over two years\, gathering thousands of anonymous quotes to use as creative fuel\, this is Cooper’s first attempt to use the experiences of his audience as inspiration for his music – rather than attempting to influence his audience’s experiences with his music. “I hadn’t realised the impact that other people’s words would have on me.” \nPivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition\, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious: \n“In both fields\, you’re in a sense\, free. DESCRIPTION:Often depicted as a chameleonic artist who constantly ‘changes his style\,’ Joe Jackson insists that most of his albums are in ‘his own mainstream’ – collections of sophisticated pop songs\, using different kinds of rhythms and combinations of instruments.\nJoe Jackson has just confirmed his return to 3Olympia Theatre\, Dublin on Sunday 27th September 2026.\nJoe Jackson was born on August 11 1954 in Burton-on-Trent\, England\, but grew up in the South Coast naval port city of Portsmouth At age 16 Joe played his first paying gig\, as pianist in a pub next door to a glue factory just outside of Portsmouth.  This was followed by other pub gigs (in which he was often trying to entertain crowds of drunken\, bottle-throwing sailors) and accompanying a bouzouki player in a Greek restaurant. At age 18 Joe won a scholarship to study Composition\, Piano\, and Percussion at London’s Royal Academy of Music. By 1978 Joe was living in London and hawking an album-length demo\, with his own band (Graham Maby\, Bass; Dave Houghton\, Drums; Gary Sanford\, Guitar) standing by. That demo  –  already called Look Sharp  – eventually found its way to American producer David Kershenbaum\, who was in London in the capacity of talent scout for A&M Records.  Joe was immediately signed and Look Sharp more professionally re-recorded in August ’78.  The Joe Jackson Band finally started to play regular gigs and the album was released in January 1979. \nJoe Jackson’s story up to this point is much more fully\, fascinatingly\, and hilariously recounted in his book A CURE FOR GRAVITY.  Look Sharp was followed within a year by the very similar I’m The Man\, and in 1980 by the darker\, more reggae-influenced Beat Crazy. In 1981 Jackson recorded Jumpin’ Jive\, a ‘musical vacation’ paying tribute to Swing and Jump Blues artists such as Louis Jordan and Cab Calloway.  Returning to songwriting\, Joe spent a large chunk of 1982 in New York.  The result was Night and Day\, a more sophisticated and melodic record built around keyboards and Latin percussion\, rather than guitars.  With a new guitar-less band\, Jackson hit the road for a whole year\, and the album became his biggest success\, going platinum in the US. \nJackson’s next album Body and Soul(1984) was in a similar vein to Night and Day but featured a horn section (which\, along with the Blue Note-inspired cover art\, led many people to wrongly assume he’d made a jazz record). For Big World (1986) Jackson stripped everything down to a 4-piece again\, and recorded live\, direct to 2-track master.  In 1989 he went in the opposite direction with the majestic\, semi-autobiographical Blaze of Glory\, and toured with an 11-piece band.  Laughter and Lust (1991) was more like a mainstream (though still idiosyncratic) rock record\, but yet another lengthy world tour left Jackson exhausted and at a creative dead end.  As he sees it\, his workaholic phase\, which also included several film scores\, a live album (Live 1980-86)\, an instrumental album (Will Power\, 1987)\, guest appearances with Suzanne Vega\, Ruben Blades and Joan Armatrading\, and endless touring was over. The 1990s brought some of his most challenging and eclectic works: the gentle\, soul-searching Night Music (1994)\, the ambitious and original song-cycle based on the Seven Deadly Sins\, Heaven and Hell (1997)\, and the album Joe considers his best (and most underrated): Night and Day II (2000).  The turn of the century saw a burst of creativity: Jackson won his first Grammy (Best Pop Instrumental Album for the non-traditional\, non-orchestral Symphony No.1) and published his book A Cure For Gravity. \nIn 2003 Joe reformed the original Joe Jackson Band for a stunning new album\, Volume 4\, and a lengthy tour.  The reunion was always intended as a one-off\, but it also produced a live album\, Afterlife\, in 2004. He was also awarded a Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Music and an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Portsmouth. Having failed to happily re-establish himself in London\, he moved to Berlin\, where his next album Rain was recorded in 2007. Consisting of ten powerful\, timeless new songs\, Rain creates a surprisingly epic sound with just voices\, piano\, bass and drums. The trio toured for the next three years. A live album\, Live Music\, was released in 2011. \nIn 2012 Joe released a tribute to one of his greatest musical heroes\, Duke Ellington. The Duke is an often radical re-interpretation of fifteen Ellington classics\, arranged into ten tracks\, and featuring an eclectic roster of guest artists including Iggy Pop\, Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson and other members of The Roots\, Sharon Jones\, Steve Vai\, and jazz violin star Regina Carter\, who joined Joe on the subsequent tour. In 2015\, Jackson announced the completion of his follow-up to The Duke. The album’s title\, Fast Forward\, and track list were confirmed in addition to North American tour dates. The titular first single was released for streaming via his official SoundCloud page. \nOn 18 January 2019\, Jackson released the album Fool. Jackson said about the album on his website: “One of my inspirations for this album was the band I’ve been touring with on and off for the last 3 years. I’ve had many different line-ups but this one is special.” Jackson and the band performed “Fabulously Absolute” on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show on 21 January 2019. Fool debuted in the top 20 album charts in Holland\, Belgium\, Germany and Switzerland. In the US\, it debuted at No. 25 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart. In the UK\, it entered the Indie Albums Chart at No. 13. \nAfter a Covid induced layoff Joe toured the US and Europe in 2022 for a tour named “Sing\, You Sinners!” featuring songs from his catalog plus a few select covers. The tour featured his band Graham Maby on Bass\, Teddy Kumpel on Guitar and Doug Yowell on Drums. Joe toured during 2024 touring both the US and Europe. \nApril 2026 will see the release of a new album “Hope and Fury” and extensive touring of both the US and Europe featuring a full band.

Plus unexpected back catalogue gems from Café Society (1975) to Only The Now (2015) in this new two-man show with virtuoso guitarist Adam Phillips (Beverley Knight\, Craig David\, James Morrison\, Mica Paris\, One Direction\, Ray Lamontagne\, Richard Ashcroft\, Roland Gift\, Tom McRae etc) \n2026 BIOG \nTom Robinson first record release was in 1975 as one-third of Café Society: an acoustic harmony trio produced by Ray Davies of The Kinks who had discovered them playing at The Troubadour coffee house in London’s Earls Court. After seeing The Sex Pistols at The 100 Club\, Tom realised “the Next Big Thing probably wasn’t going to be an acoustic harmony trio” and formed a new group of his own with guitarist Danny Kustow. The Tom Robinson Band were early supporters of Rock Against Racism and went on to enjoy Top Five success with 2-4-6-8 Motorway and mild notoriety a few months later with their LGBT anthem Glad To Be Gay. Their album Power In The Darkness entered the charts at No.4. \nIn the subsequent 50 years Tom’s been mentored by Alexis Korner and Martin Carthy\, written songs with Elton John and Peter Gabriel\, toured with The Police\, Red Wedge and The Undertones\, and Rocked Against Racism alongside The Clash\, Steel Pulse and X-Ray Spex. He’s also been banned by Radio One\, bankrupt and exiled in East Berlin\, and hounded by the tabloid press for beng in love with a woman. \nMore recently he gave 10\,000+ artists their first radio airplay on his BBC Introducing shows and served for ten years on the Ivor Novello Awards committee. At age 75 Tom still enjoys a reputation among his punk contemporaries – as well as the world of acoustic/roots music – as both as a master songsmith and a funny\, ferocious live performer.
