SUMMARY:Ulster American
DESCRIPTION:Ulster American\, written by David Ireland and directed by Ciarán O’Reilly\, starring Max Baker\, Matthew Broderick and Geraldine Hughes\, is a savagely funny play that dissects the intersection of identity politics\, ego\, privilege\, and the Northern Irish Troubles with satirical precision. \nOn the evening before rehearsals begin for her new work\, Ulster-born playwright Ruth Davenport visits the home of English director Leigh Carver\, along with Oscar-winning Hollywood star Jay Conway who has just arrived in London to star in the world premiere. \nWhat begins as a cordial gathering to discuss the upcoming production quickly descends into a brutal psychological brawl as egos\, ideologies\, and historical baggage collide. A theatrical hand grenade disguised as a drawing-room comedy\, Ulster American explosively reveals some raw contradictions at the heart of modern storytelling and political posturing. \n\n\nCredits:\n\nLee Carver: Max Baker\nJay Conway: Matthew Broderick\nRuth Davenport: Geraldine Hughes\n\n  \n\nDirector: Ciarán O’Reilly\nSet Designer: Charlie Corcoran\nCostume Designer: Orla Long\nLighting Designer: Michael Gottlieb\nSound Design: Florian Staab\nSound Design & Original Music: Ryan Rumery\nProperties: Deirdre Brennan\nAssistant Costume Design: Lindsey Eifert\nFight Director: Rick Sordelet\nProduction Stage Manager: Karen Evanouskas\nAssistant Stage Manager: Jade Doina\nManaging Director: Lisa Fane\nPress Representative: Print Shop PR

SUMMARY:Growing Pains
DESCRIPTION:The New Theatre presents Growing Pains by Carley Magee as part of Dublin Fringe Festival. \nWould you rather meet a man or a bird at a bus stop? \nA girl is alone at night. But not for long. \nAn unflinching\, hilarious new play about 2010s girlhood\, cringe-worthy quests for love and the cyclical curse of womanhood. Growing Pains captures the chaos and contradictions of growing up: wanting to go ice-skating with your parents but also wanting to get fingered. Never in between. \nFunny\, furious\, full of girlhood rage\, it asks what we inherit\, what we survive\, and why the same stories keep happening again and again. \nPlease Note: contains reference to mental health and depression\, sexual violence\, disordered eating\, and themes of suicide. \nSupported by An Grianán Theatre’s Acorn Bursary. Developed with Tinderbox’s Incubate Programme and Fishamble’s New Play Clinic.

SUMMARY:The Cronie Brothers 'Tan St Canard and Tall'
DESCRIPTION:MCD is thrilled to announce that Ireland’s most unique comedy trio\, The Cronie Brothers\, will bring their brand-new show\, ‘Triplets’\, to the iconic upstairs stage of Whelan’s\, Dublin\, on 9th September 2026. \nComprising three of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming comics—Cormac Sinnott\, Patrick Conlan\, and Jack Shortall—The Cronie Brothers are triplets. Or at least\, that is what they tell people. Despite being non-identical\, entirely unrelated\, and bearing zero physical resemblance to one another\, the trio navigates the stage with the chaotic synergy that only “family” can provide. \n‘Triplets promises a thrilling hour of high-octane stand-up. The show explores the trials and tribulations of growing up as triplets from the incredibly unique and engaging perspective of not mentioning it at all. \nExpect sharp observations\, riffing\, and the kind of chemistry that has seen them rise rapidly through the ranks of the Irish comedy circuit. As the brothers themselves put it: “The night’s sky couldn’t hold this many stars!” \nFans are encouraged to act fast\, as tickets for this one-night-only event are expected to fly.
