SUMMARY:Growing Pains
DESCRIPTION:The New Theatre presents Growing Pains by Carley Magee as part of Dublin Fringe Festival. \nWould you rather meet a man or a bird at a bus stop? \nA girl is alone at night. But not for long. \nAn unflinching\, hilarious new play about 2010s girlhood\, cringe-worthy quests for love and the cyclical curse of womanhood. Growing Pains captures the chaos and contradictions of growing up: wanting to go ice-skating with your parents but also wanting to get fingered. Never in between. \nFunny\, furious\, full of girlhood rage\, it asks what we inherit\, what we survive\, and why the same stories keep happening again and again. \nPlease Note: contains reference to mental health and depression\, sexual violence\, disordered eating\, and themes of suicide. \nSupported by An Grianán Theatre’s Acorn Bursary. Developed with Tinderbox’s Incubate Programme and Fishamble’s New Play Clinic.

SUMMARY:Muster
DESCRIPTION:The New Theatre presents Muster by Belema Art House as part of Dublin Fringe Festival. \n  \nHow can you call someone ‘brother’ while keeping the honest parts of yourself locked away? \nTwo friends step into a garden after a funeral\, hip hop blasting. What begins as a eulogy becomes an excavation; inside jokes\, bravado\, avoidance\, intimacy disguised as violence. Slowly\, they speak truths they could never say out loud before. \nThis new work unfolds as a live concept album\, blending spoken-word\, rap and storytelling to shed new light on black masculinity and friendships. It asks us to muster our courage: to confront what we’ve inherited and what we’ll pass on\, and to speak our love while we still can.

SUMMARY:Dead In Here
DESCRIPTION:A group of friends are desperate to escape the city for a weekend. Millie has an idea. Her family has a big house down the country. It’s been theirs for about 400 years. Just don’t ask how they got it. \n \nBrian wants to drink. Millie wants to relax. Georgia just doesn’t want any fights. So they drink. They relax. They try not to fight. \n \nBut then Millie’s ex arrives at the door. And soon after that\, they run out of drink. The trip begins to fall apart as old tensions resurface\, and just when it looks like they’ve hit rock bottom\, a voice calls out from below. \n \nDead In Here is a new play inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio’s ‘The Decameron’. It seeks to explore how it feels to be a young person right now: hyper-aware of the problems and powerless to effect any solutions. With its raw aesthetic\, this play presents a striking vision for what is possible when theatre is stripped back to its purest elements. \n \nThis is a play about love and death that interrogates our collective desire to escape reality. \nWritten by CN Smith and directed by Dominic O’Brien.\n \n\n\n\n\n\nWarnings: Contains themes of bereavement. This event features smoke machines\, strobe lighting and excessive loud noise/music.\n \n\n\n\nDeveloped at Dublin Fringe Festival Studios.\n \n\nWRITTEN BY CN Smith \nDIRECTED BY Dominic O’Brien\n\n \n\n\nPREVIEW TICKETS €15\nTICKETS €19 | €17\nRUNNING TIME 90 mins\n \n\n*Please be advised\, more tickets are available through the Fringe Festival box office \n \n\n\nIMAGE: Dominic O’Brien
