After 5-6hours in the studio\, we had basically nothing but then Kenny threw a bit of a hail Mary\, the three of us mixed ideas around\, and next thing we knew we had the whole song in about 30 mins. Since then\, every session I’ve had with Kenny has flowed so well and the two of us wrote a good chunk of the album Part2 together! \nCo-written by industry moguls Kenny Beats(Dominic Fike\, Vince Staples\, Remi Wolf) and Jackson Morgan\, (Justin Bieber\, Macklemore)\, “Hate Myself” captures what it feels like to love someone who isbad for you and choosing to stay until you start resenting yourself more than them. \nRuel just wrapped the second-leg of his 2026 North American Kicking My Feet Tour\, where he wassupported by UK-born singer-songwriter Arthur Hill\, emerging soul-pop singer Chelsea Jordan and rising San-Francisco native Mercer Henderson. Produced by Mike Lindsay in his Margate studio\, the album rejects the indie-rock lineage Alice came up in\, trading guitar solos for mellotron\, taishogoto and flute lines recorded mid-lesson\, trusting imperfection as the truest form of expression. \nBeneath that sound is a harder story: the weight of a complicated parental relationship and the kind of grief that doesn’t resolve neatly.
