SUMMARY:The Way of Metta: The Radical Power of Kindness
DESCRIPTION:“The way of metta is not only a path of ever-increasing positive emotion leading to Enlightenment. It is a guide to recovering our basic human inheritance of joy” – Sangharakshita \nThe Buddha is renowned as the embodiment of wisdom and love. He also represents the fullest flowering of human potential. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn this course they’ll be studying the Buddha’s words on metta – loving-kindness – and how they point out a path to realise this potential. They’ll be putting his teachings into practice starting with identifying more skillful ways of living; cultivating a vigorous imaginative identification with others; and freeing the mind through the development of wisdom. \nThe course will include an introduction to the metta-bhavana (development of loving-kindness meditation) and is suitable for newcomers as well as people who wish to intensify their practice and glean new insights. \nThe course is based upon Sangharakshita’s book Living With Kindness and you will be provided with a copy of the book as part of the course. You will receive the book on the first night of the course. \n  \nOver the five weeks they will cover:\n\nWeek 1: The way of metta and the first stage of metta-bhavana – metta for oneself.\nWeek 2: The ethical foundations of metta and the second stage of metta-bhavana – metta for a friend.\nWeek 3: Cultivating metta and the third stage of metta-bhavana – metta for a neutral person.\nWeek 4: The culmination of metta and the fourth stage of metta-bhavana – metta for an enemy.\nWeek 5: The realization of metta and the fifth stage of metta-bhavana – metta equalized and limitless.\n\n  \nSuitable for:  \n\nAnyone interested in discovering the transformative and radical power of Kindness as taugh by the Buddha.\nMeditators with some experience who want to refresh their metta practice.\nComplete beginners who want to learn about the Buddha’s teaching on metta/loving kindness and the Metta Bhavana meditation practice.

DESCRIPTION:Week Four of Summer in Dublin will be coming back to Grafton Street and\, of course\, will run from 1 pm to 5 pm. \nIf you didn’t know\, Summer in Dublin is a one stop shop for all things culture\, fun and something new. \nThis Saturday\, you can expect performances and events that will highlight some of the incredible local businesses and people that help make Dublin great. \nWithout further ado\, here is this Saturday’s line-up: \nFashion Show – Jules Fallon – 1:05 pm & 4:20 pm\nJules Fallon will start the day once again with her specially crafted fashion show\, using clothing from Dublin locals. If you can’t make it at 1 pm\, don’t worry\, there will be a second fashion show 4 pm. \nHair Demo – Peter Mark – 1:40 pm\nPeter Mark’s awesome stylists will be hosting a hair styling demo that you won’t want to miss. \nSilverworks workshop – Silver Works – 2:05 pm\nSilver Works will be hosting an unmissable jewellery crafting workshop\, with some of the best jewellery making classes around \, you won’t find a better workshop anywhere. \nLive Music – Ireland’s Eye Group – 2:30 pm & 3:50 pm\nIreland’s Eye Group are a fantastic Irish trad band that will be banging out live tunes throughout the day. \nCooking Demo – Port House – 3 pm\nPort House will be sending out one of their best chefs to put on a cooking demo on how to make delicious Spanish-inspired dishes. \nTattoo Workshop – Wildcat Ink – 3:35 pm\nIf you’re interested in practicing your tattoo work\, or getting into that world\, Wildcat’s tattoo workshop is the perfect activity\, with a fun atmosphere and great community\, it’s sure to be an unmissable time.
