DESCRIPTION:The LEAP story is one of redemption\, salvation\, and remarkably fine margins. A rollercoaster ride through major label sugar-pills and Hollywood dreams\, and back from the brink of despair through some of the darkest extremes that life can conjure. From the padded walls of Balcarres Hospital’s psychiatric ward\, to family suicide\, LEAP have somehow come out the other side into a beautiful world of communal rock and roll therapy. \nAfter signing to Capitol and Sony Records with his previous project\, lead-singer Jack Scott got a taste of the limelight\, both sweet and sour. The false highs of an unsustainable platform soon gave way to unbearable lows\, and living with bi-polar disorder\, Jacky descended into an extended manic episode. Following countless run-ins with the police and ambulance services\, Jacky was eventually sectioned in a psychiatric institution. Sedated and incarcerated for months\, he was later released to the news that his project had been dropped by all labels\, management and publisher. Empty months of deep depression followed\, before his father committed suicide in Edinburgh\, plunging Jacky further into unimaginable depths of mental trauma. \nIt is in the midst of this existential black hole that the LEAP seed starts growing. One of the most electrifying\, natural-born entertainers in music\, Jacky was never going to do anything else. He owns it with refreshing clarity: ‘Oh I’d be completely numb without LEAP. Or dead. One of the two. I know that for a fact.’ \nThe name had come from his father. Don’t flinch. Whatever it is\, face it head on. LEAP. And so Jacky started writing. Drowning out the incessant mental abuse with poignant lyrics over anthemic instrumentals\, it was all he could do to stay sane. As this cathartic process continued\, Jacky recruited his 2 closest friends on rhythm section. \nBorn days apart in the same hospital\, Hector Cottam on drums has been Jacky’s best friend since they were infants. A bisexual Buddhist\, Heccy has been at Jack’s side through all the hurt\, and he adds a welcome sense of stability to Jacky’s volatility. Trained at The Drummer’s Collective in NYC\, Heccy is a human metronome who idolises rock giants like QOTSA and Jack White. \nOn bass\, from Johannesburg\, South Africa\, the life of every party\, Mr Declan Brown. A man so deeply consumed by the sheer enjoyment of performing that he regularly forgets to play his parts. Too busy cackling with someone in the front row\, Deccy is the class clown and one of the warmest\, purest souls you’ll ever meet. \nThe final piece of the puzzle\, landing straight from Zelda’s Hyrule\, Adam ‘The Pixie’ Mason on lead guitar. Initially recruited through friends of friends\, his impact was instant. And not just on the musical side. Baby Mason fit like a pocket-sized glove into the LEAP equation\, and he immediately quit the other 5 bands he was session-ing with at the time.

The December 4 date at OVO Arena Wembley will be a celebration of British guitar music\, with The K’s joining to complete a standout three-band bill. The K’s will also support on the European run. \nThe tour will see Razorlight’s four classic members perform the album in full\, including defining classics In The Morning\, Before I Fall To Pieces\, and I Can’t Stop This Feeling I’ve Got\, alongside deep cuts like Hold On\, Who Needs Love\, and Kirby’s House. \nReflecting on the period of time when Razorlight was written\, Borrell remembers\, “The album itself started to sound like a greatest hits. The duo\, made up of Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett\, are gearing up for the release of their debut album\, having formed in 2023–but you’d be forgiven for believing that they’ve been writing together for a lifetime. \nTheir music stems from roots in musical traditions spanning both sides of the pond. In one breath\, echoing the great American folk troubadours\, and in another\, comfortably channelling the elder statesmen of Irish folk. \nThis is no accident. DUG have a shared musical heritage\, with members having been born in America and Scotland before arriving in Ireland. O’Reilly himself spent almost a decade making and releasing music in upstate New York\, having picked up sticks from his native Edinburgh\, (Irish mother and Scottish father) before moving to Ireland in 2022 to start a new musical chapter. \nAnd you can hear that lived musical experience in singles like ‘Big Sundown’ and ‘Jubilee’ (shortlisted for two Grammy nominations). Resonator guitar and banjo\, the building blocks of DUG’s arrangements\, lick and spin\, with intricate finger-picking patterns whirling to a compelling whole. Their music breathes\, vamping in sync. \nThey’re damn funny too. DUG’s lyrics catch you off guard\, eliciting an honest-to-goodness chuckle in a moment of levity. At their very best\, as on their forthcoming album\, there’s a bona fide warmth littered throughout their unique take on folk storytelling. Tracks like ‘Wheel of Fortune’ have an easy rapport.  It’s catching up with an old friend\, all mischief and smiles. \nThere are allusions to darker moments there too; yearning and melancholy\, to lessons learnt the hard way. Taking the heavy with the light\, and being able to translate it into a foot-tapping\, infectious contemporary folk sound is what DUG do best. They don’t need to posture; their music is naturally playful and honest\, inviting you along on their musical journey. \nDUG’s love for the musicians that inspired them never steps too far into reverence. They’re an unapologetically modern band. You’ll hear plenty of Irish influence in their music\, but you’ll not find any tweed coats or paddy caps here. Instead\, the band opts to be themselves-completely natural and organic. It’s part of what gives the group’s work such a strong charisma\, and helps establish DUG as having one of the most unique takes on contemporary folk music. \nIn 2024\, the duo signed to Claddagh Records\, a label in which they find themselves in fine musical company. A subsidiary of Universal Records\, Claddagh Records has spent the last few years becoming a hotbed for some of the most forward-thinking musicians in contemporary Irish folk\, home to artists like Niamh Bury\, Lemoncello\, and ØXN\, to name a few. \nIt should come as no surprise that a group that delights in a touch of devilment and so ardently remains true to themselves has built a thriving community of fans\, both at their live shows and through their often hilarious social media. \nOn that note\, beyond the release of their debut album\,  DUG will spend much of 2025 on the road with plans for an extensive international tour. Already announced are Summer dates in the US: Colorado (main stage at Telluride Blugrass Festival)\, Washington\, Portland and Idaho\, as well as a debut tour in Australia in October.
