Derry to the urban world of Belfast. Dr Lavan will discuss the book’s journey towards publication\, looking at how some of Heaney’s most cherished poems – including ‘Digging’\, ‘Twice Shy’ and ‘Death of a Naturalist’ – made their first appearances in British magazines including the New Statesman and Vogue\, where they can be found in some intriguing contexts. To do so\, she will draw on some of the most special items in our collection\, such as the letter from Faber & Faber telling Heaney that Death of a Naturalist had been accepted for publication.

He is also CX Director at the CX Academy and owner of Horgan Consultancy. \nHe’s home again\, for now. Not quite starting again but taking a step back and reflecting. Releasing the album he always thought he could\, and should. His songwriting and music are instinctive and well-received\, with people asking if he had anything on record? \nBrian’s passion is to sing\, to write\, to perform something unique. Something all his own. Personal\, most certainly\, but also connective and relatable. The thoughts and the sometimes travails of a lived experience. His listeners are in his songs. \nBrian’s played live with his band in sold-out shows at The Sugar Club\, No. 10 Ormond Quay\, Smock Alley\, Bewleys Café Theatre and The Abbey Theatre. DESCRIPTION:Tide Lines are a band whose story stretches from the wild expanses of the Scottish Highlands to the beating heart of Glasgow. In June 2025\, they celebrated a landmark moment with their fourth album Glasgow Love Story via their own Tide Lines Music label\, which landed at No.1 in Scotland and No.11 in the UK Official Album Charts — their highest UK chart position to date and third Scottish No.1. \nThe band still record and rehearse in a converted church on the Isle of Mull\, where the ever-changing Hebridean landscape seeps naturally into their sound. As vocalist/guitarist Robert Robertson puts it: “We’ve always felt like our music carries traces of where we’re from — the space\, the weather\, the drama of the Highlands. But it’s just as much about connection\, about reaching people everywhere.” At heart\, Tide Lines are a rock band in touch with the geography and the culture that formed them. \n2025 has already underlined that connection. In May\, five intimate Glasgow Love Story album launch shows across Scotland sold out instantly\, while a surprise busk on the Glasgow subway stopped commuters in their tracks. Just weeks later\, the band played the biggest headline show of their career so far\, a 5\,000-capacity outdoor concert at Rouken Glen Park\, followed by high-profile summer appearances at HebCelt\, Belladrum\, and Aberdeen’s Quayside Concerts for The Tall Ships Race. They also added a touch of sporting history to their story\, performing in front of 67\,000 people at Murrayfield Stadium during Scotland’s Six Nations win over Wales. \nAcross three earlier albums — from the sweeping romanticism of Dreams We Never Lost through to 2023’s An Ocean Full of Islands (which charted at No.13 in the UK and No.1 in Scotland) — Tide Lines built a reputation for expansive\, anthemic songs and magnetic live performances. 2024 was a milestone year: three euphoric nights at Glasgow’s legendary Barrowland Ballroom\, 14 summer festival appearances across the UK\, a sold-out European run through the Netherlands\, Denmark and Germany. They closed the year with a 14\,000-ticket Scottish tour that included a triumphant return to the Usher Hall. \nNow\, as they mark 10 years together\, the story continues with the recently released Glasgow Love Story\, an album rooted not in island remoteness but in the pulse of the city they now call home. Robertson describes it as “a love letter to Glasgow. It’s the city we started the band in\, and it’s been a constant presence in our journey ever since.” He continues: “We’ll always be influenced by where we’re from. The Highlands gave us our first songs\, but Glasgow gave us a stage and an audience. Both places are written into what we do.” The record paints a panoramic portrait of the city: the sandstone tenements glowing red in the evening sun\, rain-slicked streets shining under lamplight\, and the everyday lives unfolding in its bars\, dancehalls and quiet corners. \nLooking ahead\, an autumn 2025 UK headline tour will include their biggest London show to date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire\, before concluding with six gigs across Scotland including an already sold out Usher Hall date. And in 2026\, the band will take Glasgow Love Story on the road again for their biggest UK and European tour yet\, alongside major festival appearances\, a special 10th anniversary celebration yet to be announced\, and further international dates. \nReflecting on the band’s journey\, Robertson says: “When we first got together in a bar in Glasgow back in 2016\, we never imagined that ten years later we’d be playing to thousands of people across the country. It’s been a mad journey\, but one we’re very grateful for.” And on their live shows: “The best part of releasing new music is seeing it come alive on stage. Nothing compares to the feeling of a crowd singing your words back to you.” \nFrom their very first single Far Side of the World (now at almost 12 million streams)\, Tide Lines have sung of place\, belonging\, and the journeys that stretch beyond the horizon. DESCRIPTION:In April 2025 the Nightingales released a new album “The Awful Truth” and were due to embark on a UK tour shortly afterwards before a serious illness interjected and fucked up the year’s plans. The album came out via Fire Records who were responsible for the deluxe reissues of the band’s earlier records plus the “King Rocker” movie by Stewart Lee but “The Awful Truth” was the first all new album for the label.Recorded in a remote spot in the old DDR\, the album contains 13 songs produced by the band’s bassist Andreas Schmid and comes packaged in a beautiful sleeve featuring a painting by Tomasso Salini.It is the Nightingales’ first release since September 2023’s “Live In Balsall Heath”\, a (now sold out) limited edition double LP which is an unadulterated 68 minute document of a live show that the ‘Gales played in Birmingham\, augmented by guest musicians\, including sax god Terry Edwards. Following a fairly fallow 2024/25 the glorious Gales are ready to rock n roll afresh in 2026. When it came time to create her third album\, the Nashville-based musician leaned into her lifelong love of musical theater and dreamed up a modern-day reimagining of the soundtrack to her all-time favorite musical\, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! \n  \nThe result: a high-concept but candidly autobiographical LP called Roadrunner!\, whose 17 powerhouse songs show the full force and extraordinary depth of Butts’ artistry for the very first time. \n  \n“Every summer when I was a kid my parents would take me to see a performance of Oklahoma! at a local amphitheater\, and I’ve felt such a strong connection to it my entire life\,” says Butts\, who first conceptualized Roadrunner! during a pandemic rewatching of the film with her husband\, Flatland Cavalry frontman Cleto Cordero. “It’s a love story\, but there’s also a murder and a little bit of an acid-trippy feel to it at times; it’s set in the same place where I come from. Once I got the idea for this album\, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before\, and it turned into something that completely encompasses who I am and what I love.” \n  \nProduced by Oran Thornton (Brent Cobb\, Logan Brill)\, Roadrunner! marks a major tonal shift from Butts’ 2022 sophomore LP What Else Can She Do\, a character-driven exploration of complex matters like addiction\, domestic violence\, and generational trauma. \n  \n“With the last album\, I wanted to write about the struggles I’d seen people go through or experienced myself\, so a lot of the songs had a sadness or darkness to them\,” she says. “I feel like Roadrunner! is much closer to what I’m like onstage\, where there’s real emotion and truth but also humor and a tendency to poke fun. It’s all those different versions of me at once.” \n  \nMade with A-list musicians like multi-instrumentalists Russ Pahl (Sturgill Simpson\, Kacey Musgraves) and Lex Price (Miranda Lambert\, Parker McCollum)\, Roadrunner! ultimately matches that multidimensionality with a lush and fiery sound informed by Butts’ eclectic influences (outlaw country\, strong-minded country-pop\, timeless rock-and-roll\, and more). \n  \nAs Butts reveals\, the making of Roadrunner! served as an essential milestone in her journey as an artist\, allowing for the fullest expression yet of the larger-than-life vision she’s long brought to her work (e.g.\, her cinematic videos\, high-wattage stage presence\, exquisitely curated costumes reflecting her fondness for sequins and fringe). \n  \n“Some artists get up onstage in their T-shirts and jeans and do their thing\, but what comes naturally to me is the drama and going that extra mile to try to create an immersive experience\,” she says. “The more I pull from my musical-theater background\, the more emboldened I am. Making this album showed me that little ideas can grow and take on a life of their own\, and it’s so exciting to know that sticking with my vision can lead to something bigger than I ever even imagined.”

The 10-track project embeds the listener into duendita’s spellbinding realm and follows the lauded EP the mind is a miracle released in 2024. \na strong desire to survive was born from duendita’s transformative experience during their first extended trip to Berlin where they first met longtime collaborators Noah Becker and Anton Remy. “We would jam all the time at Baketown\, our recording studio and art space in Schoenberg. It was an era where I’d write on their beats or at the piano\, and I couldn’t stop writing about the pain\,” they share\, “all these bangers came out about how badly I wanted to live and overcome it all.” a strong desire to survive includes the previously shared track “baby teeth\,” which includes a sample of 9 vocalists\, singing in harmony as a choir – all recorded in duendita’s bedroom\, along with the track “cutie.” The upcoming project’s visual direction is equally as poignant as its musical heart. duendita enlisted friend and artist Kiyomi Taylor to create the cover art\, which features an image of a deep-sea creature who has adapted to survive in the most grotesque way. “She’s grown long nails\, gills\, scales\, and killer teeth\, just to survive.
