SUMMARY:Smerz
DESCRIPTION:Smerz is the Norwegian duo of Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina\nStoltenberg\, based in Oslo and Copenhagen. The duo released their\nsophomore album\, Big city life\, on May 23 through Danish label Escho. \nUsing collages to capture moments of everyday life and dreams\, Smerz\ntell stories lived and imagined—of apathy\, loneliness and internal\nmonologue\, love and friendship. Smerz operates at the intersection of\ngenres\, drawing inspiration from compositional techniques in classical\nmusic\, the experimentation of computer music and the immediacy of pop\nmusic\, in the palettes of girly existentialism. \nThe duo’s discography includes the critically acclaimed debut album\n‘Believer’ on XL Recordings\, EPs ’Have fun’ and ‘Okey’\, released through\nXL and Escho\, as well as pop fantasy project ‘ALLINA’ and choir piece\n‘Tidligere den dagen’ with vocal ensemble GAEA on their own label\nShopping. \nNotable past performances include Tate Modern\, MOCA Geffen\, Berghain\,\nVolksbühne\, MIRA Festival with Weirdcore\, KODE with the Norwegian\nNational Company of Contemporary Dance\, and Club To Club. From their\nchoir performance at the MUNCH Museum to fashion runway soundtracks\,\nthroughout their work\, Smerz have been known for their ability to\nnavigate and create new sonic worlds. \n“Smerz create a genre-bending dreamscape of introspective reflections\n(“A thousand lies”) mixed with sauntering\, future-focused bops\n(“Feisty”)” \n“Each song on Big city life brings something unexpected to the table\,\nleaving you with something to ponder long after it’s over.” – Paste\nMagazine

SUMMARY:Ninja S*x Party - Pure Elegance Tour
DESCRIPTION:Ninja Sex Party have confirmed they’ll bring their Pure Elegance Tour to 3Olympia Theatre\, Dublin on Sunday 26th April 2026. \nWith special guests TWRP as support. \n\n\nFor the first time in over six years NSP and TWRP are coming back to Europe and the UK\, and they’re doing it with STYLE! Actually\, not style: ELEGANCE. But actually\, not just elegance: PURE ELEGANCE. \nThat’s right\, it’s the Pure Elegance Tour 2026\, featuring everything you’ve come to expect from NSP: Classy songs\, exquisite showmanship\, a refined\, debonair atmosphere\, and face-melting solos that will rend your flesh from your bones and leave you gasping for breath yet desperate for more as you fall\, screaming\, to the floor. Like we said: Pure Elegance. \nFrom humble beginnings in New York’s improv circuit\, to their current regimen of rocking international stages\, Ninja Sex Party (NSP) has become a force to be reckoned with in the comedy music landscape. Founded in 2009 by Dan Avidan (Danny Sexbang) and theoretical physicist-turned-musician Brian Wecht (Ninja Brian)\, the duo seamlessly blends humor with rock and synth pop\, delivering side-splitting tales of romance\, mythical quests\, and of course\, the occasional (very\, very\, very tasteful) joke of an intimate nature. \nWhat sets NSP apart? Perhaps it’s Danny’s hypersexual yet hopelessly romantic persona as he tries to serenade women\, or maybe it’s Ninja Brian’s silent\, lethal demeanor coupled with an unexpected tenderness. Their journey\, which began with small gigs and blossomed into worldwide tours\, has seen them release nine studio albums\, collaborate with a universe of talented artists\, and accumulate a YouTube following exceeding 1.3 million subscribers. \n2018’s Cool Patrol\, the band’s fourth original album\, was a shining example of NSP’s growth\, where epic rock anthems like “Danny Don’t You Know” not only sat alongside their extensive catalog of both covers and originals\, but also outshone them\, paving the way for a new batch of classic comedy songs. And now\, NSP is back with These Nuts\, their first original album since 2020\, promising a fresh batch of their signature comedic anthems. Whether they’re pondering existential questions like “Who invented space?” (answer: Albert Einstein)\, courting oblivious mermaids\, or navigating heretofore unexplored innuendos\, NSP ensures their fans are both laughing and rocking out. \nNSP’s diverse skill set has seen them build monumental success throughout their 15 year career\, collaborating with YouTube personalities\, actors\, legendary 80’s bands\, and even a few spots on Conan O’Brien. Over the course of their history\, NSP has defied the odds – breaking into the billboard Top 10 multiple times as an independent artist\, and topping the Comedy album charts time and time again. When most bands would hang up the cape and mask\, NSP has kept their spandex on\, soaring higher with every new release. The band has played sold out shows all over North America\, Europe\, Australia\, and New Zealand. They were Billboard’s #1 selling comedy act in 2018\, and have amassed over 400 million views on Youtube. With These Nuts\, coming out in Spring 2024\, the band is releasing their first original album in four years\, and it seems like the party is just getting started. \nBeyond the stage and studio\, NSP is also two thirds of Starbomb\, a comedy hip-hop group that merges video game culture with a signature comedic flair. But at the core of all their endeavors – Starbomb\, NSP\, and beyond – is a genuine love for music\, humor\, and their ever-supportive fan base. \nToday\, Ninja Sex Party stands as a celebration of comedy\, rock\, and the belief that a Jewish superhero and his ninja sidekick can take over the world\, one hilarious song at a time.

It’s about musicians and attendees creating something together\, bands helping each other set up\, people looking out for one another\, and a room where everyone is treated as part of the same community. \nUnder 18s are welcome free of charge\, while adults contribute €10 to support the bands. It’s a simple\, transparent approach that keeps the scene sustainable without losing its integrity. \n“All ages” doesn’t mean “for kids.” It means nobody gets shut out. It has always been about access; if you care enough to show up\, you’re welcome! \nHere’s the deal: \n\nNo age gatekeeping — teens\, adults\, parents\, whoever.\nAlcohol stays controlled — usually wristbands or a separate bar area.\nEarlier set times so younger fans can actually be part of the scene.\nSame volume\, same chaos\, same energy — just without excluding people.\n\nThis event is grounded in clear community values:\nNO racism. NO fascists. NO heroes. LGBT+ friendly. \nEveryone is welcome\, and everyone is expected to contribute to a space where people feel safe\, respected\, and included.

SUMMARY:James Joyce Centre Walking Tours
DESCRIPTION:Guides from the James Joyce Centre take you through Dublin\, exploring the history of the city and the various locations described by Ireland’s greatest writer\, James Joyce.\n\nThough Joyce lived most of his life outside of Ireland\, Dublin would provide the backdrop for virtually all of his work. On a stroll around the inner city\, our guide will explain the real-life inspiration behind some of Joyce’s most celebrated writing\, demonstrating just how central the streetscape of the ‘Hibernian metropolis’ was to the author’s life and art. The tour visits such stops as Belvedere College\, the Gresham Hotel\, the James Joyce Statue\, Davy Byrnes\, and the National Library.\n\nThis is an excellent and fun introduction to Joyce in a bustling part of the city.\n\nThe James Joyce Centre offers two tours: Introducing Joyce’s Dublin and Footsteps of Leopold Bloom.\n\nEvery Thursday\, Friday & Saturday at 11 am. Duration 2 hours.\n\nAdmission to the James Joyce Centre is included. \nThe James Joyce Centre is supported by the Department of Culture\, Communications and Sport.

SUMMARY:Dublin City Council Sensoria - The Neurodivergent Friendly Festival for All!
DESCRIPTION:Dublin City Council Sensoria\, the award-winning neurodivergent friendly festival for all\, returns to Merrion Square Park on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April\, bringing a vibrant\, inclusive\, fun and free cultural experience to the heart of Dublin city.  \nNow in its third year\, Dublin City Council Sensoria 2026 builds on the success of previous editions with an enhanced\, carefully curated programme of live performances\, workshops\, and sensory experiences. The festival is a free\, ticketed event with access structured across three relaxed two-hour sessions daily to ensure a comfortable\, non-crowded environment for all attendees. The final session each day will feature a slightly older teen and young adult-focused programme\, expanding the festival’s reach while remaining fully inclusive and accessible to all ages. \nWelcoming the return of the festival\, Lord Mayor of Dublin\, Councillor Ray McAdam said “Dublin City Council Sensoria is a powerful expression of my mayoral theme of Celebrating Dublin because it speaks to the kind of city we are striving to build: open\, welcoming\, creative and inclusive. It is Dublin at its very best\, creating a space where neurodivergent children\, young people\, adults and families can come together to experience culture\, connection and joy in an environment shaped by care\, understanding and accessibility. Dublin City Council Sensoria reminds us that a truly great city is one where everyone feels seen\, supported and able to find their own rhythm.” \nThe festival marks the beginning of a wider programme of Dublin City Council events running throughout the summer\, creating a rich season of dynamic\, vibrant\, accessible and inclusive shared cultural experiences for the enjoyment of citizens and visitors alike. \nThis year introduces a five-zone layout\, improving flow\, accessibility and ease of navigation\, while offering a diverse mix of activity levels – from lively performances to restorative spaces\, ensuring something for everyone at their own pace. Come find your own rhythm! \nA wonderful Main Stage awaits\, featuring music\, dance\, magic and performance across both days\, including Patrick Stefan\, award-winning Irish-Dutch folk artist; Aengus Devine\, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist; Moss Russell’s Stimtastic Celebration; Joe the Magician\, presenter of RTE’s abraKIDabra and Dizzy Deliveries; Magic Marta with her interactive magic\, giggles and wonder and Meabh Conneely\, trailblazing Irish dancer\, the very first Riverdance summer school student with vision impairment. \nTake part in the fabulous Interactive Experiences and Play\, from Aerial Circus and cabaret performances to The Big Dig hands-on workshop for budding archeologists\, and kazoo music regulation sessions. Pop into the low-pressure LEGO play tent and enjoy a host of creative play spaces for all. Check out the Topic Tent\, share the things that interest you with like-minded people. Join in Workshops and Creative Fun with art and messy play\, t-shirt painting\, aromatherapy\, bread making\, emotional storytelling and life drawing. The Dublin City Libraries’ Bus will be there – packed full of stories in various accessible reading materials. \nGet your chill on in the Sensory and Wellbeing Spaces\, with dedicated sensory tents and gardens\, soft play and regulation areas\, the giant interactive Touch Totem and plenty of low-stimulation wellbeing zones. Shake it out with Movement and Participation featuring Yoga sessions\, the Danspire Silent Disco\, as well as plenty of interactive play and target games. The Movement and Participation area will also be supported by Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership Inclusion Officers\, Tess Sutton and Mark Hughes\, who will be facilitating a range of inclusive\, easy-to-join activities. They will also be available for a friendly chat with families who would like general information on local opportunities and supports. \nDublin City Council Sensoria continues to prioritise accessibility through structured zones with varied activity levels\, sensory supports including ear defenders and fidget tools\, clear wayfinding and seating areas and flexible and self-paced participation opportunities. Each element is designed to create a safe\, welcoming and adaptable environment\, supporting individuals to engage in ways that suit their needs. \nProduced by Dublin City Council in consultation with AsIAm\, ADHD Ireland and Dyslexia Ireland\, Dublin City Council Sensoria is developed through ongoing collaboration to ensure best-in-class accessibility and inclusion. The festival was recently recognised at the LAMA All-Ireland Community & Council Awards\, where it received Best Irish Festival\, highlighting its innovative approach to culture\, creativity and community engagement. \nResponding to the announcement Adam Harris\, CEO of AsIAm\, Ireland’s Autism Charity said “We are delighted to see the return of Sensoria to Dublin’s Merrion Square. Sensoria demonstrates autism acceptance and neuroinclusion in practice – not just considering the needs of our community but creating a specific offering with the needs and interests of our community at the centre. As we approach the summer\, children\, adults and families across Ireland will look forward to a range of social and cultural events and yet these experiences\, which can often be overwhelming and inaccessible\, simply can’t be taken for granted by our community. Sensoria ensures Autistic and neurodivergent people can have the same chance to enjoy what others may take for granted. Beyond being a day out\, Sensoria is a powerful demonstration of inclusion in action and a source of inspiration for other local authorities and communities to follow.” \nKen Kilbride CEO ADHD Ireland added: “ADHD Ireland has been delighted to partner with Dublin City Council over the past two years on Sensoria! We really look forward to meeting all those with ADHD and other neurodiversities\, for two fabulous days in Merrion Square this April.”  \nRosie Bissett\, CEO of Dyslexia Ireland said: “Dyslexia Ireland is pleased to be involved again in Sensoria. Navigating traditional festivals can often feel like a series of barriers rather than a celebration. Sensoria flips that script\, proving that when we design with neurodiversity in mind\, we create a richer\, more vibrant experience for everyone. This allows us to focus on what truly matters: connection\, culture\, and the joy of participation. We are proud to be part of a space where every individual is empowered to participate in their own unique way.” \nThe festival is free to attend\, with pre-booked tickets required to support a comfortable experience for all attendees. A full programme of events with access information\, maps and guidance on all aspects of the festival will be made available nearer the festival dates to ensure the best possible experience. Tickets will be available from 12 midday on Monday\, 30 March via dublin.ie/sensoria. Register your interest now and don’t miss out! Tickets for specific timed workshops will be released in the coming weeks. \n***See Images attached: Dublin City Council Sensoria promotional images of performers and participants from Dublin City Council Sensoria2025. Image credit – Maxwell’s Photography***

SUMMARY:MAKESHIFT ART BAR
DESCRIPTION:Following a breakout year that saw them storm the UK Vinyl Charts and amass over 210\,000 streams for their debut EP\, Belfast’s premier experimental noise-rock outfit\, Makeshift Art Bar\, have announced two highly anticipated headline shows this April. The band will bring their “poetic chaos” to Sandinos\, Derry on April 23rd and Whelan’s (Upstairs)\, Dublin on April 24th. \n“The band unleash chaos with an instrumental so sick and evil that it’s massively enjoyable.” – Peter Martin\, So Young Magazine \n“Each plectrum pluck shivers the ribcage and mangles the guts like a queue of ghosts drifting through your body\, beat by tremulous beat.” – Elvis Thirwell\, So Young Magazine \n“The noise rock quartet pitch into and lurch through this lively song\, a Frankenstein’s monster of post-punk\, grunge and – low-key – sludge metal. All sung with an unmistakable Belfast accent.” – Cyrus Larcombe Morre\, Clunk Magazine \nDescribed as a “Frankenstein’s monster” of post-punk\, grunge\, and electronic influences\, Makeshift Art Bar has quickly moved from underground favorites to a significant force in the Irish music scene. Their debut EP\, “Lackluster Writing Makes Fundamental Reading\,” released in January 2025\, resonated immediately with fans and critics alike. The release peaked at No. 3 in the UK Vinyl Single Charts (Dinked Edition) and has surpassed 210\,000 streams on Spotify. \nThe band’s reputation is built on a foundation of volatile\, genre-warping live performances. After a 16-date international headline tour and high-profile support slots for CHALK\, DITZ\, Mannequin Pussy\, BBC Radio 6 Live Session\, the quartet spent the festival season gracing stages at All Together Now\, YPSIGROCK\, and End of the Road. \nBBC Radio 6 presenter Mary Anne Hobbs described their track “Bedwetter” as: “Imagine catching the tears of 1980s Bargeld and Cave and using them to wipe down a devastatingly beautiful cafe racer motorcycle.” What truly sets Makeshift Art Bar apart is their dynamism. Their music defies predictable structure\, pitching and rolling with discordance and strange rhythms.Their songs are a juxtaposition of low\, searing moments and explosive crescendos\, volatile yet danceable in all the right ways. \nThis is just the beginning for Makeshift Art Bar. Their innate energy and fearless sound\, is cementing its status as a trailblazer in the underground music world.

SUMMARY:Party Cannon and Internal Bleeding
DESCRIPTION:PARTY CANNON are here to do three things; lower your IQ\, get you hench\, and raise your sex drive. Formed in 2010 and hailing from Dunfermline\, Scotland\, PARTY CANNON have subjected most of the planet to a partying with their own unique brand of slamming brutal death metal they have coined as Party Slam. \nWhile infamous for their colourful logo and fun image\, PARTY CANNON have proved they are no novelty act and have become well known for their wild inflatable-filled live shows and crowd antics (including the often imitated push-up pit) having played all over the UK\, Europe\, USA and Asia and on festivals such as SUMMER BREEZE\, BAY AREA DEATH FEST\, DAMNATION FESTIVAL and BRUTAL ASSAULT. \nWhile the live show may be a party atmosphere\, the band back it up with absolutely punishing music – crushing slam riffs\, insane blastbeats and inhuman gutturals; music that is comparable to bands such as DEVOURMENT\, GORGASM\, DYING FETUS and GUTALAX. \nThe band’s 2013 debut EP PARTIED IN HALF cemented their position as a leader of the UK metal scene is widely considered an iconic release in the slam death metal genre. PARTY CANNON’s third and most recent album INJURIES ARE INEVITABLE was released in March 2024 via UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS and has been met with great acclaim from fans and critics\, many considering it their best and most IQ lowering release to date. With new music on the horizon and a slew of live shows confirmed for 2025\, there are no signs of the party stopping any time soon.
