DESCRIPTION:Iconic Birmingham rock band Dexys have announced details of their upcoming tour\, which includes a show in 3Olympia Theatre\, Dublin on Wednesday 4th November 2026. \n\n\nThe dates will be the first time the band\, fronted by Kevin Rowland\, have toured under the name of Dexys Midnight Runners since 2003\, when they played a sold-out show at London’s Southbank Centre. \nFounded in Birmingham in 1978\, Dexys Midnight Runners released three critically and commercially successful albums – Searching For The Young Soul Rebels (1980)\, Too-Rye-Ay (1982) & Don’t Stand Me Down (1985). The band had a string of top ten hits in the 1980s\, including two number ones\, ‘Geno’ (1980) & ‘Come on Eileen’ (1982). \nFront person Kevin Rowland would go on to release both solo and further band albums\, under the ‘Dexys’ name\, including their 2012 ‘comeback’ album\, One Day I’m Going To Soar\, which came out to widespread acclaim and 2023’s The Feminine Divine\, which made number 6 in the U.K. albums chart. Rowland\, one of the most individual and unique musical talents of the past 40 years\, recently released his memoir\, Bless Me Father. \nDexy’s Midnight Runners are working with Heavenly Recordings.

DESCRIPTION:‘Definitely a new favourite band of ours’ – BBC RADIO 1 \nBlending stadium-filling guitar sounds with the delicate intimacy of modern folk\, Belfast group Foreign Mornings have been taking their unique take on the Alt.Rock genre across the UK and Ireland since 2022. Their 2025 album ‘Beginnings and Endings’ garnered them huge acclaim from the likes of BBC Radio 1\, Radio X and RTE2FM. \nWhilst officially forming in early 2020 it would take two years and a pandemic before Foreign Mornings could start playing shows. Playing relentlessly in Belfast and cultivating a fan base they would soon release their first album 4AM. An entirely self produced/engineered project featuring songs from their earliest days together. After a slew of shows across the UK including a host of festival slots\, they headed to the studio to create their first proper studio album. Working with producer Michael Bell\, the result was ‘Beginnings and Endings’ a nine track affair that redefined the band. Earning extensive radio play and press coverage and propelling the band into the next phase of their existence. \n2026 sees the group embark on their first headline tour of Ireland.

DESCRIPTION:For over a quarter of a century\, Ricky Warwick’s life and career has straddled two continents. It takes a certain kind of intuition to harvest the best of both worlds and to fashion a life and body of work built on integrity\, humility and respect. \n​It’s apparent in his music. Ricky remains undoubtedly one of the hardest working men in rock n roll. That ethos\, formed and forged in the farm fields of Northern Ireland’s County Down countryside\, stood the teenager in the greatest of stead when he first came to pick up a guitar at the age of 13. \n​There had always been music\, both at home and also in Belfast. Throughout the 1970s and early 80s\, the city was front and centre of the punk revolution. It begged the question\, “How you gonna keep him down on the farm\, once he’s seen Stiff Little Fingers?” The answer was… You couldn’t. \n​A year later the Warwick family moved to Strathaven in Scotland. It was here where the spark of musical desire became a flame. Writing and practising every day\, Ricky Warwick found himself drafted into the acclaimed UK punk/folk band New Model Army for their 1987 world tour. \n​The young guitarist had crossed the Rubicon. The taste of opportunity was on his tongue. \n​A short time later\, Warwick formed The Almighty in Glasgow\, Scotland. Drive\, focus and raw talent catapulted the four-piece into a halcyon spell of achievement. Ten Top 40 singles and four UK Top 20 albums followed. The band toured extensively\, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in rock music (including Iron Maiden\, Motörhead\, The Ramones and Megadeth) whilst building a legendary\, loyal and formidable fanbase along the way. \n​The ache for home lives in us all and\, in 2002\, Ricky returned to Ireland. It was here that he recorded his first solo album\, Tattoos & Alibis\, produced and recorded by Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott in his Dublin studio. The record was the first indication that Warwick had the remarkable capacity to cross genre\, style and pace with consummate ease and\, more importantly\, with authenticity. \n​Ricky Warwick lives in Los Angeles for now\, but that draw of home is overpowering. A relocation to the idyllic Northern Ireland countryside in the shadow of his beloved Scrabo Tower is well on course – yet another exciting chapter in the musician’s life\, which will undoubtedly inspire new work\, new music and new life. \n​As a solo artist\, with a reputation in the industry for delivering in spades\, he would continue to find success\, touring globally with Def Leppard\, Cheap Trick\, Bryan Adams and Lynyrd Skynyrd . \n​It’s fair to say that Ricky Warwick is the kid who lived his dream. There lies a hundred million mile journey from being that boy trawling the wire-windowed record shops of battle weary Belfast in search of Thin Lizzy’s latest release\, to walking onto the stage of Slane Castle in Ireland as their frontman\, but this is the journey Ricky Warwick has made. There are few who could take on that mantle with the respect and reverence the role entailed\, a feat the Ulsterman achieved to critical acclaim. \n​In 2010\, a phone call from his great friend\, iconic Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham\, offered Ricky the front and centre spot in the reformed lineup of the Irish rock behemoth. A blistering period of touring and performing at the top table of rock engendered a wave of unstoppable creativity. \n​Keen not to dilute the Thin Lizzy legacy\, yet determined to create new music\, Warwick would play a pivotal part in the formation of Black Star Riders\, fronting and writing on a string of highly acclaimed BSR records and tours. A hugely popular entity in their own right\, Black Star Riders to date have released five Top 40 albums\, two Top 10 albums\, and have been playlisted on a regular basis on BBC Radio 2. \n​Ricky Warwick is a man who can’t stand still. There’s too much to be done and only 24 hours in every day. His love of performing as a solo artist is palpable\, as at home in front of a mic and slinging an acoustic guitar as he is at the epicentre of a bank of Marshalls. The solo albums continue to land with the accuracy of a perfectly flighted arrow. \n​The man’s creativity continues to roar with the force of a mountain river. It is simply unstoppable\, as is apparent in his latest work Blood Ties\, due for release 14th March 2025. \n​Acknowledging that it was time to mine a deep seam for this record\, the busiest man in the business has left nothing in the dressing room. Big cathartic guitar sounds and life-affirming\, often joyous assessments of where he stands in this time and place make this album a standout piece of work in a career that has spanned over four decades. The Northern Irish man has spent his time well and the foundations for an album such as Blood Ties have been laid on solid ground. \n​As a solo artist and an esteemed singer/songwriter in his own right\, Ricky Warwick has also collaborated with some of the finest musicians on the planet\, with Blood Ties featuring Billy Duffy (The Cult)\, Lita Ford and Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke). \n​Having written with his friend and creative compadre Mr Keith Nelson (Buckcherry) for this album\, Ricky stresses that the guitars are turned up “beyond driven” on Blood Ties. When Warwick is as happy as this with a new work\, you can rest assured there’s another hit album barrelling down the track… And it’s coming at a pace.

We recorded it between Belfast and the Dundalk Mountains in December when it felt like everyone else at Christmas parties. Throughout the process I had this strong feeling in the value of things getting smaller and still to become more expansive. It’s an album about ego and pride\, who we tell ourselves we are\, what we tell ourselves we want\, and letting go of some of those ideas. It’s about a run in with my neighbour’s dog\, watching a funeral on TV\, wrestling with how much of yourself to share with others\, and trying to find peace in it all without needing to rip it up and start again. “I came to the realisation that I don’t need to make as much noise to take up space”

DESCRIPTION:Pelican has always been a band that’s not just from Chicago\, but distinctly of Chicago. Formed in 2000 by guitarists Trevor Shelley de Brauw and Laurent Schroeder-Lebec alongside brothers Bryan and Larry Herweg on bass and drums respectively\, Pelican’s foundation was built upon the rule-free\, genre-agnostic scene synonymous with the Fireside Bowl. “The ‘90s in Chicago was a free-for-all. Everyone was just coming from a place of pure creativity\,” says Shelley de Brauw. With Schroeder-Lebec returning to the band following Dallas Thomas’ departure in 2022\, this reunified version of Pelican allowed the band to tap back into the spirit of their formative era and build something distinctly new with Flickering Resonance. \nWhile longtime Pelican fans will recognize the album as an update to the band’s ethos—one that’s been constantly evolving since their very first EP—their new partnership with Run For Cover Records emphasizes something that’s always been implicit to the Pelican formula. These songs take as much inspiration from titanic ‘90s post-hardcore\, space-rock\, and emo as they do traditional metal\, showing that though Godflesh and Goatsnake records occupied the shelves of Pelican’s songwriters\, so too did Quicksand\, Christie Front Drive\, and Hum. “A lot of people didn’t hear it at first\,” says Schroeder-Lebec. “I was like\, well\, I guess the metal world is where we fit. But now\, we’re more willing to acknowledge all the suits we’re wearing.” \nOn Flickering Resonance\, Pelican doesn’t attempt to reinvent itself as much as emphasize the elements that were so often overlooked. Though Pelican’s thick sonic backbone remains intact\, the songs on Flickering Resonance show a more humanistic side of the band. Tracks like “Evergreen” and “Indelible” tease Pelican’s doom-metal roots\, but these songs feel equally\, ebullient and truthful\, playing like Texas Is The Reason songs transmuted into a post-rock landscape. Recorded with longtime musical compatriot Sanford Parker\, who recorded their first EP\, Pelican begins this new chapter of their career with an album that’s neither full reinvention nor back-to-roots revivalism. After so much time apart\, and with so much life having been lived between the original Pelican lineup’s last recording sessions together\, the band approached it with renewed vigor and a more communal spirit. \n“There was more room for openness and critique with the understanding that we’re all trying to craft the best song possible and that every suggestion is valid until it’s proven invalid\,” says Shelley de Brauw. That process allowed everyone to embrace the material with a shared vision. “We didn’t move forward unless we all wanted to move forward\, and that felt like real community building\,” says Schroeder-Lebec of this unified approach. “I went from seeing it as my art and my craft to our craft that we were shaping together.” \nIn doing so\, Pelican allowed themselves to look at their music less as a means of hard-earned catharsis and more as an appreciation for the glimmers of joy that occur even in the bleakest landscapes. Songs like “Cascading Crescent” and “Indelible” don’t languish in what’s been lost\, these tracks see the band embracing what remains in their hands instead of lamenting what’s slipped through their fingers. It’s a concept that’s mirrored in the artwork of Christian Degn that graces the cover of Flickering Resonance. It’s a piece built off the concept of flame meditation\, and how the smallest flames can often bring about the biggest transformations. A song like “Flickering Stillness” exemplifies this feeling through its sonic expanse\, putting the band’s sonic density and hyper-focused clarity on display\, but with an emphasis on the profound human connections that have kept Pelican going all these years. \n“When Laurent left and we were able to carry it through\, there became a real sense of gratitude for the fact we still have this artistic outlet and a community of people who want to be a part of it” That feeling of deep\, grounded appreciation isn’t just one that’s within the band members\, it’s expressed in every track on Flickering Resonance. Because at the very core of Pelican\, are four individuals who have grown both separately and together\, and always will. \nLike a distant light faintly glowing in the darkest night\, Flickering Resonance is a reminder of all that has passed us by\, but also all that is still to come.

The album was recorded in Glasgow in 2023 and includes a selection of old and new songs performed by the post-1999 line-up with Paul McLoone on vocals. \nTHE UNDERTONES – Part 1 – 1976 – 1983\nThe Undertones emerged from Derry in 1976\, the result of five friends (John O’Neill\, Damian O’Neill\, Feargal Sharkey\, Billy Doherty and Michael Bradley) learning how to play basic rock and roll. \nEven by the standards of that decade Derry was not the rock and roll capital of anywhere. With no live bands worth watching\, they learned by listening to mail order records\, reading one of the few copies of NME that made it to Derry but most of all from listening to John Peel’s wonderful show on BBC Radio One. Practicing in their bedrooms eventually led to the band recording John O’Neill’s ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978 on Terri Hooley’s Good Vibrations label in Belfast. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show. \nThe Undertones signed with Sire Records and ‘Teenage Kicks’ was re-released\, resulting in the band’s first appearance on Top of the Pops. Over the next five years\, John O Neill\, crafted further pop gems such as `Here Comes The Summer`\, ‘Jimmy Jimmy`\, `You’ve Got My Number (Why Don’t You Use It)’ and ‘Wednesday Week’ whilst Damian O’Neill and Michael Bradley contributed ‘My Perfect Cousin. They also recorded four highly acclaimed LPs. Indeed\, they almost enjoyed the life of professional musicians. In 1983 Feargal Sharkey left the band to pursue a solo career and the remaining members decided to call it a day. The Undertones were to remain silent for the next sixteen years. \nTHE UNDERTONES – Part 2 – 1999 –\nIn 1999 The Undertones reconvened\, without Feargal Sharkey\, to once again perform their two-minute\, three and a half chord songs to a new generation of fans in Derry and around the World…Fellow Derryman Paul McLoone replaced Sharkey on vocals and his vocal prowess and electric onstage presence soon convinced any doubters that he was more than capable of doing the job. \nAfter much consideration the band released an LP of new songs called `Get What You Need’\, which was critically acclaimed by Q magazine\, Uncut\, Rolling Stone and Hot Press. Songs like ‘Thrill Me’\, ‘I Need Your Love The Way It Used To Be’ and ‘Everything But You’ showed that the art of writing short\, sharp songs had not been lost over the previous two decades. \nIn 2003 ‘Thrill Me’ was released as a limited edition 7” vinyl single and found its way to John Peel’s turntable. He introduced it on his show commenting\, “And these are words I thought I would never be saying on radio again\, a new single from The Undertones”. He liked it so much he played it twice\, just as he did with ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978. \nIn 2016 the Band released vinyl remasters of ther first two LPs; ‘The Undertones – The Undertones’ and ‘The Undertones – Hypnotised’ along with a 7” vinyl remix of the 1979 single ‘Get Over You’. Remixed by Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine/Primal Scream). Michael Bradley also published his book Teenage Kicks: My Life as An Undertone’. \n2018 marked the 40th Anniversary of the release of their most influential and famous song\, ’Teenage Kicks’.  On 21st April for Record Store Day 2018 the band released a Vinyl Singles Box Set containing the 13 x 7” original Undertones singles from the classic early period: 1978-1983.

Music has been at the heart of Mark’s life from an early age. His mother enrolled him in piano lessons when he was just six years old.
