SUMMARY:Jake Xerxes Fussell
DESCRIPTION:Reared in Georgia and now settled in North Carolina\, Jake Xerxes Fussell has established himself as a devoted listener and contemplative interpreter of a vast array of so-called folk songs\, lovingly sourced from a personal store of favorites. He has released five studio albums to-date\, beginning with his self-titled debut album\, released by Paradise of Bachelors in 2015. \n\nHis most recent studio album When I’m Called was produced by James Elkington and features the playing of Ben Whiteley (The Weather Station)\, Joe Westerlund (Bon Iver\, Califone)\, and others. Blake Mills contributes guitars on several tracks. Joan Shelley and Robin Holcomb provide backing vocals. In their review of the record\, Pitchfork wrote: “No other American singer is repurposing our old folk scripts with so much authority or ingenuity.”  \n\nMore recently\, Fussell and Elkington collaborated on the music for Rebuilding – a feature film directed by Max Walker-Silverman and starring Josh O’Connor. A soundtrack of the same name was released on Fat Possum Records in November 2025. \n\n“Critics love to call things unclassifiable\, which can sometimes feel like a subtle admission of defeat. But Jake Xerxes Fussell’s music\, which draws heavily from nineteenth- and twentieth-century vernacular folk songs and archival field recordings\, is idiomatic\, and entirely his own…he is a folksinger in the truest sense\, collecting ideas and melodies and lyrics from distant and disparate traditions\, looking for the things that unite us in our humanity.” – The New Yorker \n\n“(Fussell) is one of the great magpies of American song\, collecting forgotten\, tarnished gems with a folklorist’s zeal…” – The Guardian

SUMMARY:Arab Strap
DESCRIPTION:Arab Strap announce new album Half-Told Tales – Released 4th September via Rock Action Records \nShare new single You You You \n  \nWith a rose in my fist\,\nand a song in my lungs\,\nI reach for a hand\,\nand I’ve got you\, you\, you. \nPhoto: Luke Bovill \nArab Strap’s new album Half-Told Tales\, the group’s ninth\, will arrive almost three decades to the day since their first single was released. “We’re thirty years old this year\,” says the duo\, “So we decided to celebrate by doing what we enjoy most: by making new music.” \nThe band have never sounded more relevant on the state-of-affairs lead single ‘You You You’\, a track that bubbles to life sounding like some long-lost killer Italo disco record – with Moffat’s vocal refrain of the song’s title creating one of the most outright melodically infectious songs the band have ever made – and that’s before Malcolm Middleton’s punchy and spiralling guitar lines burst through it. The result is something that feels like an entirely new genre. “A sort of disco-metal incantation\,” suggests Moffat. “With a message of future felicity and fellowship that – fingers crossed – might make you dance and giggle too.” \nLyrically\, the song is emblematic of some of the themes on the album. “‘You You You’ is an attempt to remind ourselves\, and hopefully others\, that the world’s not full of awful people\,” says Moffat. “That there are millions of us out there dealing with the same worries every day: from the rising costs of absolutely everything\, our mental and physical health\, the constant slaughter and tyranny in our newsfeeds\, to playing an unwitting part in the military-industrial complex\, and the endless warping of reality. It can often feel like a complete absence of human decency – it’s no wonder that despondency can feel like our default disposition.” However\, while the song digs into these troubles and tumultuous times\, it does so with a purpose. “It was designed as a kind of invocation\,” says Moffat. “To bring forth the stubbornly elusive spirits of hope and solidarity.” \nThe push-pull dynamic that exists in such songs – where grooving\, fluid beats nestle up against rip-roaring guitars – is reflective of the back and forth approach the band have during the songwriting process. “The excitement comes because me and Aidan like and hate different things\,” says Middleton. “There are things in the record that individually we might not choose but that’s why I like this album so much\, because it’s not the one I wanted to make. I don’t think it’s what Aidan wanted to make either\, it’s this bit in the middle. It might not be 100% what we want but it’s good for the band\, and it works.” \nArab Strap have also announced a new tour for the Autumn including a visit to Eastern Europe. SUMMARY:SOFY
DESCRIPTION:SOFY exists in the gaps between genres. \nTaking the tension of trip-hop\, the immediacy of Britpop and the edge of garage rock\, she has built a sound that feels unmistakably her own. It’s witty\, melodic and uncompromising. \nLong before her first official release\, SOFY’s demos were already earning spins on BBC Radio 1 and drawing praise from Arlo Parks\, Sam Fender and Yungblud. Within a year\, the Leicester-born songwriter was playing Glastonbury Festival and landing on the EA Sports FC soundtrack\, marking the start of a relentless three-year run that saw her release two EPs and two full-length mixtapes\, all while remaining fiercely independent. \nThat momentum fuelled sold-out headline shows\, major festival main stages\, and support slots alongside Liam Gallagher and Sabrina Carpenter. This summer\, she opens for Kasabian and The Libertines ahead of the release of her debut album\, How To Perform Magic\, in September. It is her most experimental and vulnerable work to date. \nDescribed by Dork as ‘the voice of a generation… a much-needed messiah for the messy’\, SOFY stands as one of the most compelling new voices in British guitar music.

SUMMARY:Koch Marshall Trio ft. Greg Koch
DESCRIPTION:Mascot Label Group / Players Club recording artists Koch-Marshall Trio\, consists of American guitarist Greg Koch\, his son Dylan Koch on drums and Hammond B3 specialist Toby Lee Marshall. At the heart of this organ trio is a blues sensibility – but Koch’s compositions are an amalgam of rock\, funk\, jazz and country served up with heavy grooves and dynamic improvisations delivered with no small dose of humour and occasional wild abandon. \n

SUMMARY:Brian Horgan
DESCRIPTION:Singer-songwriter Brian Horgan hails from Enniscorthy\, the town of Colm Tobin\, Vinegar Hill\, Eileen Grey and Annie Jameson (mother to the inventor of the radio; Marconi) the River Slaney and the 10th Century historic Norman castle. \nBrian’s debut album ‘Start Again’ is rooted in the place where he grew up. He’s taught English in Europe\, worked as the Development Director in Dublin’s Abbey Theatre and has been involved in Music/Theatre/Arts all around the globe. He is also CX Director at the CX Academy and owner of Horgan Consultancy. \nHe’s home again\, for now. Not quite starting again but taking a step back and reflecting. Releasing the album he always thought he could\, and should. His songwriting and music are instinctive and well-received\, with people asking if he had anything on record? \nBrian’s passion is to sing\, to write\, to perform something unique. Something all his own. Personal\, most certainly\, but also connective and relatable. The thoughts and the sometimes travails of a lived experience. His listeners are in his songs. \nBrian’s played live with his band in sold-out shows at The Sugar Club\, No. 10 Ormond Quay\, Smock Alley\, Bewleys Café Theatre and The Abbey Theatre. Also in New York City as an invited guest performer of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). \nHe’s no ‘Small Voice’\, he isn’t a balladeer in the corner of your local. Not your typical ‘Singer/Songwriter’ in the typical fashion. (Much as we all love that…) There’s a bit more to Brian Horgan. He’s taken this long to create ‘Start Again’\, thought a great deal about it. He’s where it has led him and we’re invited along. \nBrian Horgan says\, “It is all simply a journey of love and experience even (or especially) in its difficult moments”.

SUMMARY:Cassius
DESCRIPTION:Like a symbol. What better way to rekindle the Cassius flame than with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games? After the tragic death of Philippe ‘Zdar’ Cerboneschi in June 2019\, the flame is burning brightly again thanks to the determination of Hubert ‘BoomBass’ Blanc-Francard\, the other member of the duo\, to revive this legendary name in the French Touch. And not just on 8 September during the Closing Ceremony of the Para Olympic Games\, the first appearance of this reinvented Cassius. The trigger for this genuine reconstruction came during the many DJ sets Hubert has performed in France and abroad in trio with his two accomplices Étienne de Crécy and Falcon over the last few months. The audience’s rapturous reactions when he played Cassius‘ hits (’Feeling For You’\, “I’m a Woman”\, “I <3 U SO” among others) convinced him that the story couldn’t end there. With the certainty that a name that still resonates on dancefloors the world over should not be allowed to fade away\, BoomBass is launching Cassius’ comeback at the end of 2024. With the release of a Best-Of on 11 October and the first Cassius Club date a few days earlier\, on 9 October at the Rex Club in Paris. This concept will soon be extended to dancefloors the world over\, where Hubert will be surrounded by his many friends as well as new talent. And there’s more surprises in store for 2025. We can’t wait. The baseline ‘Cassius rockin’ non-stop since 1999’ is back in vogue.

SUMMARY:Arlo Parks
DESCRIPTION:London-born Arlo Parks won the Mercury Music Prize for her debut 2021 album Collapsed in Sunbeams\, won Breakthrough Artist at the 2021 Brit Awards\, and received two Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations. She was coined “the voice of her generation”. Her follow up My Soft Machine featured the likes of Phoebe Bridges and saw her continue to tour globally. 2025 saw her become the youngest ever appointed UNICEF Ambassador as she continues her humanitarian work. 2026 sees the release of her much anticipated third album Ambiguous Desire. Referencing everything from the queer hedonism of NYC’s Paradise Garage to the moody nocturnal British beats of The Streets and Burial\,the glittering synth catharsis of LCD Soundsystem\, and rooted house grooves of Theo Parrish\, Ambiguous Desire is Parks at her most confident and experimental. A soundtrack to unguarded self-expression\, it is a life-affirming new piece of work from one of music’s most irrepressible voices. \nCatch Arlo at The Ambassador Theatre October 17th\, 2026.
