SUMMARY:Common Ground @ EPIC
DESCRIPTION:Common Ground: Ireland and the EU is a new multimedia exhibition exploring how Ireland’s membership of the European Union has shaped the country socially\, culturally and economically over the past few decades. The exhibition also looks at the impact Ireland has had across Europe\, telling stories of migration\, opportunity\, equality\, education and cultural exchange through immersive displays and personal stories. \n  \n\n\nIreland joined the European Economic Community (EEC) – as the EU was then known – on January 1\, 1973\, after a referendum endorsed by 83% of voters. It was then among the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in western Europe\, with a population just over half of its current size. \nIreland’s accession proved to be the most consequential economic milestone in the half century since Irish independence\, but it also set in motion far-reaching social and cultural change. EU legislation has driven improvements in workers’ rights\, for example\, and set binding targets for climate action. Irish people have studied and built new lives across Europe\, while many Europeans have since made their homes here in Ireland. \nAs Ireland assumes the EU presidency in 2026\, this new multimedia exhibition explores how a small island nation has extended its influence across Europe\, and how Europe\, in turn\, has profoundly shaped modern Ireland. \nFeatured Stories:\nEqual Pay \nStudying Abroad \nAn Ghaeilge \nEntry to this exhibition is included in general admission tickets.

SUMMARY:Wet Leg
DESCRIPTION:Touring all over the world\, Wet Leg developed into a taut\, caustic live operation that made good on their debut album’s success: #1 chart placements at home and abroad\, three GRAMMYs\, two Brits and over half a billion streams. \nWet Leg – the Isle of Wight five-piece founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers – released their eagerly anticipated second album ‘moisturizer’ in July 2025. Joined by Ellis Durand (bass)\, Henry Holmes (drums)\, and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar\, synth)\, ‘moisturizer’ is fun and freaky and fabulous\, an unbridled display of the live muscle Wet Leg have built up over a few years of non-stop touring. Punchier\, prettier and more perverted where it counts\, ‘moisturizer’ is an album of manic love songs and well-timed kiss-offs\, delivered by a clan of the UK’s most beloved oddballs. \nIf success presents a fork in the road for any new band – to “go pop” or keep following your muse – Wet Leg emphatically chose the latter path – including working with Dan Carey again as their producer. In March 2024\, the band decamped to Southwold to write; living together\, working all day\, watching horror movies all night\, they soon locked into a new sense of symbiosis. Subsequently\, all five members of Wet Leg have writing credits on moisturizer – “We were just kind of having fun and exploring\,” says Chambers. “We focused on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together” adds Teasdale. ‘moisturizer’ is the band turning the dial up and delivering a record that is unapologetically bolder\, stronger and raunchier. \n\n

SUMMARY:Cian Ducrot
DESCRIPTION:Raised in Cork\, Cian was surrounded by music growing up and soon excelled himself\, learning piano\, classical guitar\, saxophone\, percussion\, drums\, violin and the flute. He studied at London’s Royal Academy of Music from the age of nine and soon felt split between his classical training and his desire to make pop music. He continued his studies while writing songs and posting on social media\, but his mind was made up following a successful songwriting camp in Los Angeles. \nThe deciding factor between the two worlds was the ability that a pop artist has to connect with their audience – and that remains a big aspect of his artistry to this day. He was far from an overnight success\, however\, often borrowing money\, busking\, surfing sofas and taking on random jobs to fund writing trips to London and LA. His first breakthrough on TikTok led to his debut EP Make Believe and he grew in stature with every release\, especially when ‘I’ll Be Waiting’ and ‘All For You’ completed his journey from pub gigs in Cork to the upper reaches of the charts. \nLittle Dreaming was released to widespread acclaim last August\, and saw Ducrot claimed his second Irish Number One album. The Dream Ship tour saw Ducrot play packed shows in London\, Manchester\, and Glasgow\, as well as Paris\, Brussels\, Berlin\, Copenhagen\, and Stockholm before closing with a sold-out show in Dublin’s 3Arena in December.

SUMMARY:NCH Landmarks: Paddy Casey
DESCRIPTION:In this occasional series\, leading Irish artists perform their landmark album and music from their career. \nAs part of the NCH Landmarks series at the National Concert Hall\, Paddy Casey returns to Dublin for a special night celebrating the albums that defined the early chapters of his career. This landmark performance will see Casey revisit Amen (So Be It) and Living in full; records that not only shaped his own musical journey but left a lasting imprint on Irish music. \nHaving been at the forefront of the Irish music scene since his multi-platinum selling debut album Amen (So Be It)\, Paddy Casey’s career has taken him all over the globe touring with acts like The Pretenders\, R.E.M\, Ian Brown\, Blondie and Tracy Chapman to name a few. Closer to home he has played all over Ireland\, including a sold out Dublin Castle\, RDS and a record-breaking week long run in The Olympia Theatre\, alongside special guest spots with U2\, Pearl Jam\, Bob Dylan and more. \nPaddy Casey’s hugely successful debut album Amen (So Be It) achieved many international highlights including tracks being featured in hit television shows such as ‘Dawson’s Creek’ and ‘Roswell’ alongside extensive American and European tours. Further establishing himself as one of the country’s most successful artists\, his second album Living went on to become one of the biggest ever selling albums in Ireland (approximately 15 times platinum in its first year) \nThis was followed by the release of Addicted To Company\, Part 1\, with this album seeing Paddy Casey continue to tour across America\, performing on The Late Show with David Letterman\, securing a week-long slot on MTV. After the release of this album Paddy Casey decided that it was time to part ways with his record label and go independent in order to let himself and his music veer off in any direction the wind carried them\, resulting in his first release The Secret Life Of and his last double album Turn This Ship Around a resounding success with both the albums reaching platinum status. \nPaddy is currently mixing and getting ready to release the first single from his (as yet unnamed) new album due out this summer. \nPresented by NCH

SUMMARY:The Kooks
DESCRIPTION:The Kooks\, whose 2006 debut sold over 2 million copies\, have unexpectedly found themselves beloved by a new generation. While their original fans remain\, they’ve layered on a fervent Gen Z following\, headlining festivals and selling out shows worldwide. Social media has made them a generations’ new favourite band again\, introducing their unmistakable Brit-pop joy to fresh ears. Their debut was a defining moment for indie music in the 2000s\, their first releases set the sound of a moment in time. There are few songs as defining of the 2000s as ‘Naïve’\, but the band were never a one-hit wonder – their follow-up record\, ‘Konk’\, hit number one as one of four Top 10 albums. \nThe Kooks never stopped evolving\, transitioning from indie rock to synthpop and krautrock influences. Over time\, they’ve integrated wide-ranging inspirations—Harris’ love of soul and opera\, alongside Pritchard’s classic influences like Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones. \nIn May 2025\, the band released ‘Never/Know‘\, their highest-charting album since 2008\, reaching number 5 on the UK Albums Chart. As part of their 2025 arena tour\, The Kooks delivered career-defining performances at Manchester’s Co-op Live and London’s O2 Arena.

SUMMARY:Steve Ray Ladson
DESCRIPTION:Steve Ray Ladson\, a multi-talented musician and songwriter from Hopkins\, South Carolina\, has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in Country music. Rising to national prominence following his standout performance on America’s Got Talent in July 2025\, Ladson captivated audiences and judges alike with his original composition “Back of My Truck\,” earning unanimous approval from all four judges and advancing to the next round. \nThe performance drew enthusiastic praise from the judging panel\, with Sofia Vergara declaring him her favorite music act of the season\, exclaiming “You guys were amazing\, I loved it!” Simon Cowell was equally impressed\, stating “Everything was\, like\, on point. I love the song\, I love you. I love the band.” Both Simon and Howie Mandel recognized the commercial potential of the song\, agreeing it had all the makings of a hit. \nLadson’s musical journey began in his teenage years performing in Gospel quartets\, where he developed his foundational skills and stage presence. His talent and dedication soon led to opportunities with nationally recognized acts\, including tours with Grammy nominee Robert Randolph and the Family Band and six time Grammy winners The Blind Boys of Alabama. These experiences exposed him to diverse musical traditions and helped shape his unique artistic vision. \nA true multi-instrumentalist\, Ladson has mastered an impressive array of ten instruments\, including guitar\, electric bass\, banjo\, keyboards\, drum kit\, and harmonica. This versatility allows him to create rich\, layered compositions and brings a distinctive depth to his live performances. His instrumental prowess is matched by his songwriting abilities\, with all of his material being original compositions drawn from his real-life experiences. \nLadson’s songwriting draws inspiration from blues and roots legends such as Robert Johnson and Sonny Boy Williamson\, while incorporating elements from his Southern upbringing. His music reflects his life in the South\, where riding trails with the “Chocolate Cowboys” and participating in rodeo and horse riding culture provide dominant themes for his creative endeavors. \n“Blackgrass Brothercana” – A New Genre \nPerhaps most notably\, Ladson is pioneering his own musical genre\, which he calls “Blackgrass Brothercana.” This innovative fusion combines bluegrass and country-Americana with elements of R&B\, hip hop\, rock\, and soul\, creating a sound that is both rooted in tradition and refreshingly contemporary. This genre-blending approach reflects his diverse musical background and his commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
