SUMMARY:Common Ground @ EPIC
DESCRIPTION:Common Ground: Ireland and the EU is a new multimedia exhibition exploring how Ireland’s membership of the European Union has shaped the country socially\, culturally and economically over the past few decades. The exhibition also looks at the impact Ireland has had across Europe\, telling stories of migration\, opportunity\, equality\, education and cultural exchange through immersive displays and personal stories. \n  \n\n\nIreland joined the European Economic Community (EEC) – as the EU was then known – on January 1\, 1973\, after a referendum endorsed by 83% of voters. It was then among the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in western Europe\, with a population just over half of its current size. \nIreland’s accession proved to be the most consequential economic milestone in the half century since Irish independence\, but it also set in motion far-reaching social and cultural change. EU legislation has driven improvements in workers’ rights\, for example\, and set binding targets for climate action. Irish people have studied and built new lives across Europe\, while many Europeans have since made their homes here in Ireland. \nAs Ireland assumes the EU presidency in 2026\, this new multimedia exhibition explores how a small island nation has extended its influence across Europe\, and how Europe\, in turn\, has profoundly shaped modern Ireland. \nFeatured Stories:\nEqual Pay \nStudying Abroad \nAn Ghaeilge \nEntry to this exhibition is included in general admission tickets.

SUMMARY:Saint Etienne
DESCRIPTION:As part of their The Long Goodbye Final UK & IRE Tour\, Saint Etienne have announced a Dublin show at 3Olympia Theatre on Tuesday 22nd September 2026\nIt’s not something to be sad about as the band are planning a series of parties to be remembered. Live sets that pick the “best of the best” from their illustrious 35 year\, 17 UK top 40 singles and 13 album catalogue. \nTickets priced from €42.85 including booking fee & €1.50 restoration levy on sale now with Ticketmaster Ireland \nSaint Etienne’s first ever live performance was on 15th November 1990 at Heaven nightclub in London\, just a few months after the release of their debut single ‘Only Love Can Break Your Heart’. \nAlthough the band haven’t been the most prolific live act over the last 35 years\, they’ve played most major festivals around the globe and visited more countries than Bob Stanley\, Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell can count on their combined fingers. \nSaint Etienne UK tours have included support acts Oasis\, Stereolab\, Broadcast and Pulp and the band have appeared on festival bills alongside the great and the good\, from James Brown to Kyle Minogue and too many others to mention. \nBut unlike most of their predecessors or peers Saint Etienne wish to bow out on a high with their dignity intact. Their final studio album ‘International’ released in September 2025 was a pop music masterclass that reminded us of what we love about the band. Shows to celebrate its release and the band’s long goodbye were promised and now we have news of their final UK tour in September 2026. \nRoll up\, roll up as we celebrate Saint Etienne’s final UK & IRE tour… \nWill there be tours in Europe\, America\, Japan or Australia? \nWho knows\, but one thing is certain – when Saint Etienne say something they mean it – so if you want to catch them on tour in the UK /IRE\, 2026 will be your last chance.
