SUMMARY:Ebony | Dublin | The Grand Social
DESCRIPTION:Ebony\, at 25\, is one of the leading voices of female rap in Brazil\, with her songs reaching the top of the Spotify charts and her live shows featured at major festivals across the country. Born and raised in Queimados\, Rio de Janeiro\, Ebony had an upbringing which\, to this day\, affects her songwriting style. As a black child adopted by white religious parents\, growing up in what used to be one of Rio de Janeiro’s most dangerous neighbourhoods\, navigating between the streets\, the church\, abuse\, and an introspective eccentricity\, the stories Ebony tells are some of the most captivating in Brazilian hip hop. Her breakout track “Pensamentos Intrusivos” reached #1 on Brazil’s Spotify Viral Chart\, with multiple releases placing across national charts. She has performed live at the Multishow Awards\, Brazil’s main music awards ceremony\, and appeared on the cover of ELLE Brazil\, as well as becoming the first Brazilian female rapper to cover Galore Magazine. Don’t miss Ebony’s Dublin debut\, her first Irish show to date.

SUMMARY:Dunluvly
DESCRIPTION:Dunluvly are an Indie Folk band from Dublin\, Ireland. Originally the solo project of Shane Dunleavy\, the band has taken Dunluvly’s sound to new heights. \nThey now boast an impressive roster of musicians\, including Christian Conefery\, Mark Duggan\, Aisling Fitzgerald\, Karen Garvey\, Aidan Gray and Tommy Adams. They also perform with larger arrangements that include artists Ryan Fahey\, Naoise Mac Chonghaill\, Mark Garvey\, Eddy Blake\, John O’Connell and Arjun Desai. \nThey performed to a sold-out Whelan’s on the 27th of December 2023\, teasing some of the new EP ‘Flow’. On the back of this success\, lead singer Shane ventured into the RTE studios in January 2024. Here\, he played Hammer Fingers (released May 24th 2024) live on air and discussed the band’s future plans on ‘Tea With Toshín’. \n  \nThey rounded off January with a performance at ‘Ones to Watch Extra 2024’ on the Whelan’s Main Stage. The second single from their upcoming EP was released in February 2024. \n‘The Spire’\, a personal and political journey through the Dublin of today\, was featured on RTE 2fm and Bored City Blog. \nThe second single\, Hammer Fingers\, is an emotional live recording reminiscent of Hozier’s Cherry Wine. \nThe release of the EP ‘Flow’ is led by a chilled UK Hip-hop-inspired track that addresses the experience of writer’s block and the art of pushing through. \nThe band relocated to Wellington\, New Zealand at the end of 2024. Here the project has begun a new record\, with the fi rst new single landing on the 20th of June 2026 titled ‘Home Safe’: \n“Releasing a single written about the struggle of living 20\,000km away from so many friends and family\, we are very excited to be returning to Ireland to play it during our first tour at home in 2 years.” \nDunluvly’s single ‘Too Late’ was used by Surfl ine in their short fi lm ‘Out Front – Ireland’ as a soundtrack to showcase Ireland’s most prevalent professional surfers. Additionally\, Shane produced the original soundtrack for the fi lm ‘Where Will We Go’ which will screen at the Disappear Here Film Fest and Inheritance – The Environmental Festival. 2023 boasted debut performances at Whelan’s ‘Ones to Watch’ festival and Electric Picnic’s Trailer Park\, off the back of their fi rst national tour.

SUMMARY:CURVEBALL: Barbi Recanati
DESCRIPTION:Barbi Recanati is one of the most influential figures in contemporary Argentine alternative rock and indie\, standing out not only as a musician but also as a passionate activist and cultural promoter. Her journey began at the helm of Utopians\, the garage rock band she led for more than a decade\, performing on some of the region’s most important stages and even earning a Latin Grammy nomination. However\, after the group disbanded in 2017\, Barbi began a solo career that redefined her sound\, moving away from raw punk to embrace a post-punk and new wave aesthetic filled with synthesizers\, chorus-drenched guitars\, and introspective melancholy. \nHer solo debut\, the acclaimed album Ubicación en tiempo real (2020)\, solidified her place in the independent scene and earned her a Gardel Award\, along with another Latin Grammy nomination. This success was followed by El final de las cosas (2023)\, a work that deepens her nostalgic style and her ability to write direct lyrics about human relationships and the passage of time. Alongside her musical output\, Recanati has transformed the Argentine industry through Goza Records\, a label she founded together with Futurock radio to support women and gender-diverse artists. Additionally\, her research work is reflected in the book and podcast Mostras del Rock\, where she recovers. It highlights the history of women who were pioneers in the genre but were made invisible by the official narrative. Today\, Barbi serves as a bridge between the legacy of classic rock and the new self-managed avant-garde. Don’t miss her first time in Dublin presenting her latest album\, “único y nuestro.” The band will take over Curveball (upstairs the Button Factory). Support: TBA. Don’t miss out!

SUMMARY:Ulster American
DESCRIPTION:Ulster American\, written by David Ireland and directed by Ciarán O’Reilly\, starring Max Baker\, Matthew Broderick and Geraldine Hughes\, is a savagely funny play that dissects the intersection of identity politics\, ego\, privilege\, and the Northern Irish Troubles with satirical precision. \nOn the evening before rehearsals begin for her new work\, Ulster-born playwright Ruth Davenport visits the home of English director Leigh Carver\, along with Oscar-winning Hollywood star Jay Conway who has just arrived in London to star in the world premiere. \nWhat begins as a cordial gathering to discuss the upcoming production quickly descends into a brutal psychological brawl as egos\, ideologies\, and historical baggage collide. A theatrical hand grenade disguised as a drawing-room comedy\, Ulster American explosively reveals some raw contradictions at the heart of modern storytelling and political posturing. \n\n\nCredits:\n\nLee Carver: Max Baker\nJay Conway: Matthew Broderick\nRuth Davenport: Geraldine Hughes\n\n  \n\nDirector: Ciarán O’Reilly\nSet Designer: Charlie Corcoran\nCostume Designer: Orla Long\nLighting Designer: Michael Gottlieb\nSound Design: Florian Staab\nSound Design & Original Music: Ryan Rumery\nProperties: Deirdre Brennan\nAssistant Costume Design: Lindsey Eifert\nFight Director: Rick Sordelet\nProduction Stage Manager: Karen Evanouskas\nAssistant Stage Manager: Jade Doina\nManaging Director: Lisa Fane\nPress Representative: Print Shop PR
